OnePlus is gearing up to unveil its latest smartphone software, OxygenOS 15, on October 24 at 3:30PM through an online event. It will be based on the Android 15 operating system. Packed with some AI features and newer design elements, the company is positioning this release as its most user-friendly OS yet.

"OxygenOS 15 introduces OnePlus's latest AI features, aimed at empowering users with advanced technology. These features are strategically designed across multiple common scenarios to maximise productivity and creativity, making life easier for each user. The new OxygenOS 15 will be a perfect combination of speed, performance, and intelligence," the company said.

OnePlus says it has overhauled the animations to deliver a smoother, more fluid interface. The brand hasn't revealed or teased any of the features that will be coming with the new software update. But, thankfully, leaks have given a rough idea of what to expect.

One of the most speculated features, as reported by SmartPrix, is a revamped Control Centre. While retaining its familiar layout from OxygenOS 14, the new design could draw inspiration from iOS and HyperOS. The revamped layout is rumoured to feature a media player in a 2x2 grid, a 1x2 brightness slider, and a volume control in a 1x2 grid. Swiping down from the screen’s left corner may open the notification window, and swiping from the right could bring up the Control Centre — echoing iOS functionality.

Further leaks suggest the introduction of a volume slider that expands and shrinks with presses, again borrowing from Apple’s design approach. Another rumoured highlight is the addition of a Dynamic Island-inspired feature. The Camera app may also gain a Live Photos feature.

OxygenOS 15 is also said to offer new customisation options for the lock screen, including the ability to adjust the position, colour, and font of the clock. Users may also see a depth effect that adds a 3D-like feel to the lock screen.
