  • India won the toss and opted to bowl first
  • Bangladesh made two changes to their side
  • Rohit said India is aiming to make early inroads

India have decided to stick to the same playing XI from Chennai for the Kanpur Test as the option of the third spinner wasn't exercised on September 27, Friday. Going into the 2nd Test, there was hope that an extra spinner could be used for the game in Kanpur and give one of Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah or Akash Deep a bit of a rest. However, India decided to stick to the same lineup that won them the game at Chepauk.

India had won the toss and opted to field first at Green Park as Rohit felt that the pitch was a bit soft. The India captain said that they would be aiming to make early inroads and wanted the 3 seamers to make most of the conditions. Rohit also said he expects the same fight from Bangladesh as they showed in the Chennai Test but expects his side to show the same spirit that won them the first game.

IND vs BAN 2nd Test: Live Updates

"We are going to bowl first. The pitch seems a bit soft, so we have to make early inroads and we want our three seamers to make use of it. We didn't start well with the bat in the first game, but we found a way to score and the bowlers did the job. I expect no different here (fight from Bangladesh), we will be challenged but we have the experience to bounceback. Same team," said Rohit.

Bangladesh made two changes to their side as they left out Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed from the side as they roped in Taijul Islam and Khaled Ahmed.
