Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi's latest outing, Amaran, is holding steady at the box office during the weekdays. After eight days of its theatrical run, the film is said to have raked in Rs 114 crore nett at the domestic box office. The biographical film is expected to see an increase in collection during its second weekend. Amaran has been receiving positive reviews ever since it hit theatres on October 31.

The positive word-of-mouth is helping Amaran's theatrical run across the globe. As reported earlier, the film had a fantastic four-day opening weekend and earned over Rs 150 crore worldwide.

According to the tracking website Sacnilk, Amaran is estimated to have earned approximately Rs 5.50 crore nett in India on November 7. The eight-day total collection of the film now stands at Rs 114.60 crore nett. On November 7, the film recorded an overall occupancy of 29.44 per cent.

Amaran will enjoy a solo run in theatres without major competition from any other Tamil films for another week. However, on November 14, Suriya's Kanguva will release in theatres on 10,500 screens across the globe. From next week, Amaran will have to share screens with Kanguva.

Amaran, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, is a biopic on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan. The film is based on Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh's book series, India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes. One of the chapters in the three-part book is about Mukund and his mission.

Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose and Rohman Shawl play prominent roles in the biopic.
