Many original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are planning to launch new models in the first quarter of the calendar year (CY) 2025. However, some companies are gearing up to introduce updated versions in the fourth quarter of 2024. While Maruti Suzuki India will launch the Dzire facelift, Nissan Motor India will bring the Magnite facelift. Kia India will bring the Carnival and EV9. BYD India will introduce the eMax 7.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire facelift

The Dzire is the largest-selling sedan in India. It is also the only sedan that has seen its volumes rise despite the sedan segment de-growing overall. The Dzire facelift is expected to launch in India in November. From the spied shots, we can say that the updated Dzire has fresh exteriors and premium interiors. The Dzire facelift gets new LED lights (head and tail), new alloys and an electric sunroof. Inside the cabin, you will find an automatic climate control, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera and wireless phone charger. The new Dzire will borrow the Z-Series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine from the new Swift. The engine produces a maximum power of 82PS and a peak torque of 113Nm. The transmission options include 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT.

Nissan will launch the Magnite facelift in India on October 4. The Magnite is Nissan's volume driver in the country. In its updated avatar, we are expecting the vehicle to have a new grille, headlamps and taillamps, and alloy wheels. The interiors might be updated with a new touchscreen infotainment. The engine choices will remain the same as before -- B4D 1.0-litre Naturally-Aspirated petrol (72PS and 96Nm) and HRAO 1.0-litre Turbo petrol (100PS and 160Nm/152Nm). The transmission options will include 5-speed MT, 5-speed AMT and CVT.

Bookings for the new Kia Carnival have already opened in India for a token amount of Rs 2 lakh. It will be launched on October 3. The premium MPV gets bells and whistles like second-row luxury powered relaxation seats with ventilation and leg support, one-touch smart power sliding door, dual sunroof, 12-speaker Bose sound system, dual panoramic curved display 12.3-inch CCNC infotainment, 12.3-inch instrument cluster, and Level-2 ADAS with 23 autonomous features. The vehicle is expected to employ a 2.2-litre diesel engine.

The Kia EV9 will be launched in India along with the Kia Carnival on October 3. It will be the carmaker's second EV in the country after the Kia EV6. The EV9 will be available in India in a single GT Line AWD 6-seater variant. It will have a 99.8kWh battery mated to a 384PS/700Nm battery. The Kia EV9 range is claimed to be 561km on a single full charge. The EV9 is Kia's most expensive car. It might be priced above Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom) in India.

Bookings have commenced for the BYD eMAX 7 for a token amount of Rs 51,000. It will be launched on October 8. The BYD eMax 7 will replace the BYD e6. The premium MPV has the blade battery and 8-in-1 electric powertrain. The first 1,000 customers booking the BYD eMax 7 by October 8, the company will offer benefits up to Rs 51,000 and complimentary 7kW and 3kW chargers upon delivery. This limited-time offer is valid only for customers who book the vehicle by October 8 and take delivery before or by March 25, 2025.
