At least three people were killed and seven others were injured in a blast at an illegal firecracker factory in Haryana's Sonipat district on Saturday. The bodies of the three victims were severely burnt and seven workers were reportedly in a serious condition.

The factory was being run by a local resident named Ved, who was operating it illegally from his home. According to a police officer cited by news agency PTI, the chemical used in preparing firecrackers in the "illegal unit" appeared to have caught fire, leading to the blast.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the fire department, senior police officials, and a forensic team rushed to the scene.

Police and fire department personnel worked together to recover the bodies from the factory.

The man responsible for running the illegal firecracker factory has fled the location. Sonipat police have launched an investigation into the incident.
