  • Rishab Shetty stars in Prashanth Varma’s Jai Hanuman as Lord Hanuman
  • The first look poster of the film was shared on Diwali
  • Jai Hanuman is a sequel to Prashanth Varma’s blockbuster, Hanu-Man

Hanu-Man director Prasanth Varma released the first-look poster of his ambitious new film, Jai Hanuman, on Wednesday, October 30. The director roped in Kantara star Rishab Shetty to lead the film. The first-look poster of the film featured Rishab dressed up as Lord Hanuman, carrying an idol of Lord Rama inside what looked like a temple.

Prasanth has teamed up with Mythri Movie Makers on Jai Hanuman, which is the sequel to his hit film Hanu-Man, which was released earlier this year. The film is a part of Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). With Shetty, who recently earned widespread acclaim and a National Award for his performance in Kantara, Jai Hanuman is set to be one of the most anticipated upcoming releases.

Prasanth shared the poster of the film on social media platform X and wrote, "In the spirit of Diwali and the guiding light of the divine. Honoured to be teaming up with the National Award-winning actor @shetty_rishab sir and the prestigious @MythriOfficial to bring our grand vision #JaiHanuman. Let's begin this DIWALI with the holy chant JAI HANUMAN and resonate it across the globe. #JaiHanumanFirstLook #HappyDiwali (sic)."

The film's first-look poster was appreciated by the audiences, who felt that it represented Lord Hanuman’s physical strength and spiritual devotion towards Lord Ram. As mentioned by the makers, this new chapter is set in the mythological context of Kaliyuga, and imagines Lord Hanuman in Agnyathavas, or self-imposed exile, where he remains silent but potent, embodying a strength waiting to emerge. Varma’s vision for Jai Hanuman blends high-octane action with mythological depth.

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers' Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar, Jai Hanuman is crafted on a grand scale, with top-tier technical standards to elevate the story's visual appeal. Prasanth Varma, who is writing and directing the film, aims to deliver a cinematic experience showcasing Indian mythology with a modern touch. As seen in Hanu-Man, he seamlessly blends his stories with Indian mythology and presents an Indian superhero in a never-seen-before avatar.

Meanwhile, Rishab Shetty is currently working on Kantara Chapter 1, a prequel to Kantara. Set in the 300s CE, the story dives deeper into the mythos and cultural backdrop that set the stage for Kantara. On the other hand, Prasanth Varma is currently working on expanding his cinematic universe with films like Jai Hanuman, Adhira and Mahakali in the making.
