IGNOU launches best innovation awards 2024 for student innovators

IGNOU has announced the call for applications for its Best Innovation Awards 2024, inviting submissions from students who have made significant innovations in various fields. Organised by the National Centre for Innovation in Distance Education (NCIDE), the competition is open to all registered IGNOU students who can submit their entries in a prescribed format.

The top three innovators will be honoured with certificates, trophies, and cash prizes of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000, and Rs 5,000, respectively. Winners will be invited to the IGNOU headquarters in Delhi to receive their awards.

The annual award of the IGNOU was started in 2018 by the National Centre for Innovation in Distance Education (NCIDE) which is given to the top three student innovators.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES

Applications for IGNOU's Best Innovation Awards 2024 are to be submitted exclusively via email to ncide@ignou.ac.in. The university will not accept hard copies or scanned handwritten submissions.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to present their innovations, including details about their development process and functionality, through a virtual platform. Once the results are declared, winners will be notified individually and the outcome will also be posted on the official IGNOU website. No separate communication will be made with other participants, as stated by the university.

Innovations can be submitted under a variety of themes, such as healthcare and biomedical devices, agriculture and rural development, food processing and packaging, smart transport and traffic management, and renewable energy solutions, amongst others. Additionally, selected students may have the opportunity to participate in competitions organised by the Ministry and other institutions.
