In a recent interview, TV actor Dalljiet Kaur revealed that her ex-husband Shalin Bhanot was absent as a father and showed little interest in checking on their son Jaydon's well-being.

Television actor Dalljiet Kaur is currently involved in a legal battle with her estranged husband, Nikhil Patel. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the actor expressed her disappointment and shared her journey of healing from the challenges she faced. Dalljiet also discussed her second marriage with Nikhil Patel and spoke at length about her ex-husband, Shalin Bhanot, revealing that he had not been present for their son Jaydon as a father.

When Dalljiet was asked about receiving any sort of support from Shalin for their son Jaydon, the actor said, “Is he?" She went on to add, "The best thing is I don't need support, and I want to tell Mr Bhanot that I do not need your support. But his son needed a call and deserved a call, but he never got that."

"From the time we divorced, it has always been a pattern that whenever he would ask, 'I'm free. Can I come to meet?' I've never said no. I was always busy as a single mother figuring out my life. I never took care of his schedule, but if we ever asked, I never said no. It's been a pattern for 9 years," Dalljiet said.

Continuing, the Iss Pyaar ko Kya Naam Doonactor shared that before marrying Nikhil Patel, she introduced him to Shalin, feeling it was her responsibility to do so. She noted that the former Khatron Ke Khiladi 14contestant was aware of her plans to remarry. "I wanted that for myself; I deserved it," Kaur emphasised.

Dalljiet recalled inviting Shalin to visit them in Kenya, telling him he was welcome to stay with them whenever he wanted to see Jaydon. She also shared that she asked Shalin to meet Jaydon when she returned to India, but he never reached out to her about it.

"Not a single message, forget about the meeting. It is also very interesting how I don't want anything from him. What will he do? The pain that me and Jaydon are going through is our journey to take,” the 41-year-old actor added.

Dalljiet Kaur’s estranged husband, Nikhil Patel, shared a statement after the actor accused him of engaging in an extra-marital affair. In the statement, Patel claimed that he was not legally divorced from his first wife when he and Dalljiet had a ceremony, a fact that she and her family were aware of. He also added that the divorce arrived in January this year and Dalljiet had already left him by then. He also accused the actor of verbally abusing him.

In his statement, Nikhil mentioned that he met Dalljiet in November 2022. She then had a ceremony for ease in moving to Kenya.
