Alia Bhatt: Riddhima Kapoor has 'biggest gossip bombs', more 'khabar' than Ranbir

Alia Bhatt described her sister-in-law Riddhima Kapoor Sahni as a bigger source of gossip in Bollywood. Riddhima shared insights about Ranbir's lively side around his daughter, Raha, and discussed her bond with Alia.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor is often referred to by his colleagues as the one-stop person for all the gossip in the film industry. However, his wife, actor Alia Bhatt, believes that his sister, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, knows even more. Riddhima, daughter of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, was recently featured in the Netflix show Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives.

During the promotion of the series, Alia appeared in one of Riddhima's interviews through a special video message. She told Galatta India, "If there’s anybody who has all the khabar (news) in the world, it’s Riddhima. She casually drops the biggest gossip bombs, and all of it usually ends up being true. So, she’s way ahead of all of us, especially her brother (Ranbir)."

Alia also shared that Riddhima is a wonderful aunt to her and Ranbir's daughter, Raha.

"But she is also the kindest, most loving, and generous human being who only has love to give. She is also the most entertaining and fabulous bua (aunt) who has taught Raha all kinds of things. Thanks to you, I am doing ‘Uma Joshi ye ye ye’ almost 20 times a day. I feel very happy and grateful to have you in my life as the most wonderful sister. I won’t say sister-in-law because you are more than that,” the Jigra actor added.

After listening to Alia's message, Riddhima spoke about her sister-in-law and commended her for her efforts to stay in touch with the family. “The love (between the two sisters-in-law) happened very naturally; nothing is forced upon. It’s a very natural bonding,” said Riddhima.

Riddhima also revealed that Ranbir is generally in his zen mode, speaking very little, but when Raha is around, he becomes lively and full of life.

“Ranbir’s eyes sparkle and shine when he sees Raha. He just becomes a new person. Otherwise, he’s very chup-chap (quiet), in a zen mode. He becomes like that (hyper) only in front of the camera and his daughter,” she shared. Riddhima also mentioned that Raha now calls her “booha” as she’s still learning to say bua (aunt).

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni made her screen debut with Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives. Regarding her Bollywood debut, she told India Today Digital that she will consider it after seeing the response to her debut show.
