Rumors about Apple's iPhone SE lineup just got a lot more interesting. According to recent leaks, Apple may be planning to launch not only the iPhone SE 4 but also an iPhone SE 4 Plus. If true, this would be a big shift for Apple’s budget-friendly iPhone range. These details come from the Japanese website Macotakara, which obtained a 3D-printed mockup of what is believed to be the iPhone SE 4 and compared it with existing iPhone 14 accessories.

Macotakara's report shows that the iPhone SE 4 looks very similar to the iPhone 14 in terms of design and size. The mockup reveals that the SE 4’s display size will be 6.1 inches, the same as the iPhone 14. The device is expected to have a TrueDepth front camera in the same position and size as that of the iPhone 14, which suggests that Face ID could finally come to the SE line. The mockup also hints at a 146.7 mm height, 71.5 mm width, and 7.80 mm thickness, matching the dimensions of the iPhone 14.

The leaked mockup also suggests that the iPhone SE 4 could feature a USB-C port instead of the traditional Lightning connector, aligning with the EU’s push for a universal charging standard. As for the bottom of the device, it is said to have five holes on the right and three on the left, which could be for the stereo speakers and built-in microphone, similar to the iPhone 14.

Interestingly, the rear camera layout on the SE 4 mockup is slightly different from the iPhone 14. The camera on the SE 4 seems to be smaller in diameter, and the distance between the main camera and the flash is different, which means iPhone 14 camera accessories might not fit perfectly.

The potential for an iPhone SE 4 Plus also came up in the leak. According to Macotakara, the iPhone SE 4 was initially developed in the same 6.7-inch size as the iPhone 14 Plus. However, it seems like Apple has now added a 6.1-inch model as well. This suggests that the SE 4 Plus could offer a larger screen option, giving customers more variety. Whether both models will be released is still unclear, as Apple has not confirmed the final design and size range.

Apple fans are eagerly waiting to see what the company has in store for its SE line. With design cues from the iPhone 14 and possibly the introduction of Face ID and USB-C, the iPhone SE 4 could be a huge leap forward from its predecessor. Whether Apple releases just one model or introduces a Plus variant remains to be seen, but the leaks have definitely stirred excitement.
