Flipkart has been revealing the Big Billion Days offers for some time now. According to the teasers, the latest Google smartphone, the Pixel 9, is scheduled to sell at an effective price of Rs 69,999. Launched at Rs 79,999, the sale is offering Rs 10,000 discount. The Google Pixel 9 series was launched in India last month, on August 14. The Google Pixel 9 series is designed to unleash the power of its AI, Gemini. However, a question still persists: Is it worth it?

Before we answer the question, it is noteworthy that Flipkart sale has also scheduled a discount offer on the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. Launched at Rs 1,24,999, the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL gets a Rs 24,000 discount, making it available for Rs 1,00,999. The Pro XL does not only have a bigger size but a relatively larger battery with a 5,060mAh battery.

Google Pixel 9 at Rs 10,000 discount: Is it worth it?

The Google Pixel 9 series is the latest smartphone series, which is deeply integrated with AI. But has Google done a good job? The Pixel 9 is among the most talked about smartphones, especially because of its features. But before stepping into that, let's take a look at the build of the Google Pixel 9. The Pixel 9 design is flawless, thanks to the aluminium frame. The body feels tough and durable. The rear glass has a shiny and polished finish. This is more regular, unlike the luxurious velvety finish Google is giving in the Pixel 9 Pro. It features a 6.3-inch OLED display with uniform bezels around it.

It is powered by Google's Tensor G4 processor, paired with the Titan M2 security coprocessor, 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Want to know how it performs in real-life? Read the detailed review of Google Pixel 9 here.

For optics, the device continues to sport a dual rear camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel wide lens and a 48-megapixel ultrawide lens. The camera module on the Pixel 9 has the same shape as what we see on the Pixel 9 Pro XL, although this one houses only two cameras. There is no telephoto camera here. Also missing is the infrared sensor, which powers the Temperature app on the Pixel 9 Pro XL. But the depth of the camera module is similar, probably because the Pixel 9 has the same large main camera sensor that we get in the Pixel 9 Pro.

It packs a 4700mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging, and it is also compatible with wireless charging. The wired charger is sold separately, just like previous Pixel phones. It runs on Android 14 and promises 7 years of Android OS and security updates, so you are getting long-term software support.

Google has also introduced a lot of AI features powered by Gemini into the Pixel phones. Here is the list of AI features in the Pixel 9 series. In brief, it features Weather app, Call Notes, Screenshot app, Pixel Studio, Camera AI, Gemini Live, and more.

Based on the testing we did on the Google Pixel 9, we think it is worth it, even with its tiny flaws.
