KBC 16: Amitabh Bachchan reminisces about his wedding, reveals who decided the menu

In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, host Amitabh Bachchan spoke about his wedding with Jaya Bachchan. He recalled how one day they randomly decided to get married.

In the latest episode of Bigg Boss 16, Amitabh Bachchan spoke about his wedding with Jaya Bachchan. He welcomed the contestant, Shravani Jena from Odisha. Shravani works as a Block Social Security Officer under the Odisha Government, focusing on the welfare of minorities and disabled individuals.

The contestant revealed that she had been working towards securing a government job for six years, with her father's support to become independent. Now, she lives far from her parents and handles life on her own.

Shravani, who is set to get married in November, shared how her family is busy with the preparations. The Piku actor curiously asked about her fiance and whether it was a love or arranged marriage. Shravani humorously responded, "Sir, this is a 'mummy-forced arranged marriage.' I graduated in 2017, and ever since, my mom has been fixated on my marriage. Every six months, she’d bring me a new proposal, but I kept rejecting it because I wanted to first secure a job and become financially independent. However, after I got a job last year, she decided to create some big drama, declaring one day that if I didn’t get married, she would die! So, I had no choice but to agree. Finally, in February 2024, my wedding got fixed."

Further, the contestant even spoke about how expensive it is to get married today. She further asked Big B, "Shaadi mein kya yaad rehta hai sab ko Khaana(What is remembered in the wedding is food), so who decided the menu at your wedding?"

The actor aid, “Humari shaadi mein aisa kuch nahi hua tha, ek din chalte phir humne socha byaah kar lete hain unhone bhi kaha chalo theek hai... Byaah kiya ghar leke aaye.. joh ghar mein khana bana tha woh khila diya bus (Nothing like that happened at our wedding; one day we were just going about our usual day and thought, 'let's get married.' She agreed, and that was it... we got married, came home, and served whatever food was already made at home. That was all)." Shravani then said, “Sir Jaya ma'am ne kuch nahi bola (Did Jaya Maam not say anything?" Big B looks tongue-tied and nods, "Haan bus aisa he tha.. koi taam jhaam nahi (Yes, that’s exactly how it was... no fuss or fancy arrangements).”

Shravani even gave her first wedding card to the actor and requested hi to come for the same.
