Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has put to rest rumors linking him to the England national team head coach job, stating that he hasn’t yet decided on his next career move. With Guardiola’s contract at City expiring in the summer of 2025, there has been growing speculation about his future, with many suggesting a possible national team role, particularly with England. However, Guardiola dismissed these reports during an interview on Che Tempo Che Fa, reiterating that nothing is confirmed.

Guardiola, widely regarded as one of the best football managers of all time, has had a storied career, leading several top European clubs to success. After achieving monumental success with FC Barcelona, where he won three La Liga titles, two Champions League trophies, and two UEFA Super Cups, he moved on to coach Bayern Munich. At Bayern, Guardiola’s trophy haul continued as he led the German club to three consecutive Bundesliga titles and a FIFA Club World Cup victory.

"I haven't finished my career at Manchester City yet, I still have to think about [my future]...It's not true that I'll be the England coach. I haven't decided anything yet, if I had decided my future at Manchester City I would say so, anything can happen in life," Guardiola said.

The speculation linking Guardiola to England's head coach role also stems from his extensive experience in English football, where he has spent eight seasons with Manchester City. Since his arrival at City in 2016, Guardiola has guided the club to five Premier League titles, including an unprecedented three-in-a-row from 2021 to 2023. His most significant achievement with the club came in 2023 when he led City to their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, followed by a UEFA Super Cup triumph.

Despite his impressive club career, Guardiola has yet to manage a national team. While fans and pundits see him as an ideal candidate for a role like England’s, Guardiola himself remains non-committal about his future. For now, his focus stays firmly on Manchester City as they aim to maintain their dominance under his leadership.
