Childish Gambino Falls Under Sorceress’ Spell in Kaytranada’s ‘Witchy’ Music Video

· Rolling Stone

Kaytranada has something sinister up his sleeve. The DJ and producer released a music video Wednesday for “Witchy” featuring Childish Gambino, the 16th track off his latest album Timeless. The nearly four minute video show Kaytranada and Gambino grooving in a cool-toned studio when a phantom-like figure begins to mirror Gambino’s dance movements.

“It’s voodoo/You make me feel like I’ve been floating/This ain’t a spell, you got me open, girl,” Gambino says in the music video.

Timeless, released June 7, includes tracks like “Lover/Friend” which chronicles the in between space in relationships along with features from Tinashe, Anderson .Paak, Pink Pantheress, and Mariah the Scientist.

In a Rolling Stone digital cover story, Kaytranada said he recorded a majority of the songs for his third album around the time he received a Grammy for his record Bubba in 2021. One of the songs were the synth-heavy track “Witchy.” Downplaying the artist collabs, Kaytranada told Rolling Strone, “It’s not big, big names, but it’s definitely artists that I love to work with.”
