Jimmy Kimmel Responds to Donald Trump Reviewing His Oscars Performance (Again)

· Rolling Stone

Donald Trump is apparently still salty about Jimmy Kimmel‘s hosting performance at the Oscars earlier this year. During a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump recalled how Kimmel read his Truth Social post before Best Picture was announced, referring to Kimmel as a “dope” and “one of the dumbest human beings ever.”

Kimmel, as usual, didn’t take the criticism laying down. On last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host played a clip from the rally and then noted of the insults, “Isn’t that sweet? He’s confusing me with one of his sons again.”

“Wow,” Kimmel continued. “Do you think he’s flirting with me? What is this? When I die I would like that to be at the Emmys’ In Memoriam montage. He even worked my wife in there. Should I be worried Trump has mentioned my wife more times at his rallies this year than his own? I also want to point out the Oscars were more than six months ago. He’s still stewing over this joke! He keeps bringing it up, which I don’t mind at all. In fact, I love it. I just wish he would quote it correctly.”

Kimmel then brought out his wife Molly McNearney to give Trump some advice. McNearney, who came out with an Emmy and wearing a shirt that said “Isn’t it past your jail time?,” used the opportunity to discuss the current abortion bans in the U.S. “Thanks to you, women in 21 states can’t make their own choice about their own life and their own body,” she noted. She added, “My advice to you to is to shut up and go away. Far away… Let a competent woman take over.”

During the Oscars in March, Kimmel read a disgruntled, borderline incomprehensible review of the awards show Trump had posted on Truth Social while they were airing live. Kimmel read the entire post before commenting, “Isn’t past your jail time?” Trump has been enraged about it since and seemingly can’t let the incident go.

In April, in the midst of his trial, Trump revisited Kimmel’s joke whilst also confusing the comedian for Oscar-winning actor Al Pacino.

“Stupid Jimmy Kimmel, who still hasn’t recovered from his horrendous performance and big ratings drop as Host of The Academy Awards, especially when he showed he suffered from TDS, commonly known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, to the entire World by reading on air my TRUTH about how bad a job he was doing that night, right before he stumbled through announcing the biggest award of all, ‘Picture of the Year,’” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It was a CLASSIC CHOKE, one of the biggest ever in show business, and to top it off, he forgot to say the famous and mandatory line, ‘AND THE WINNER IS.’ Instead he stammered around as he opened the envelope.”

Unfortunately for Trump, it was actually Pacino who was tapped to announce the Best Picture and skipped the usual listing of nominees to unceremoniously declare Oppenheimer the winner. Kimmel was, of course, delighted, noting on Jimmy Kimmel Live, “Don’t get me wrong, I wish I was Al Pacino. I’m just not. He’s Al Pacino. I’m me. You’d think he would know that because I’m pretty sure ‘Say hello to my little friend’ is what he said to Stormy Daniels that got him in all this trouble.”
