Arlington-area woman, 23, identified in stabbing death

Madison King died of sharp force injuries. Detectives believe she was killed by her husband.

ARLINGTON — A young woman killed in a stabbing attack last week in her Arlington-area home has been identified.

Detectives believe Madison King, 23, was stabbed to death late Thursday by her husband, Homero Osuna Gonzalez. King was found dead Friday in her home.

Osuna Gonzalez, 25, told sheriff’s detectives he flew into a rage and killed her at their home in the 400 block of 200th Street NW, west of Smokey Point. He was arrested Friday in Kirkland for investigation of murder, according to court papers.

Her identity was released Wednesday by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy confirmed she died of sharp-force injuries.

King and Osuna Gonzalez met at Everett Community College, where they both played soccer. They reportedly married in November 2020. Court papers say they had plans for a formal wedding celebration in August.

King’s family released a statement Wednesday:

Madison beamed with light and love. She was a child of God who grew up in the church and had a solid faith in Jesus as her savior. As a teenager, Madison received a Citation Award in AWANA for years of study and memorizing most of the Bible. Her passion for serving Spanish-speaking families began after going on a mission trip to Brazil.

She lived her years to the fullest and had goals to do so much more. Madison was only one class away from finishing a second degree in Spanish from Western Washington University and wanted to serve Spanish-speaking families in our medical system.

This is a senseless act of violence, but we seek comfort knowing she is in heaven. We hope for Madison to get the justice and peace she deserves.

The memorial for Madison will be June 26th at First Baptist Church of Arlington on 426 N French Street in downtown Arlington. If you wish to donate in her memory, please donate to AWANA or American Youth Soccer Organization.
