KIA UK has unveiled a one-of-a-kind electric restomod to celebrate its 80th anniversary: the KIA Pride EV. Built in collaboration with Electrogenic, the Pride EV transforms the 1996 KIA Pride 1.3 LX into a fully electric vehicle, debuting at Bicester Heritage’s “Scramble” event.

Replacing the original 60hp petrol engine, the new electric motor delivers over 100 hp and 173 lb-ft of torque. The Pride EV maintains its classic design, including the five-speed manual transmission, while embracing modern touches like the White Pearl paint and lime green interior accents. Twin 10kWh battery packs provide a combined capacity of 20kWh, allowing for a range of up to 120 miles in Eco mode. Three drive modes — Eco, Sport and Auto — adjust the car’s performance for different driving experiences.

KIA noted that the one-off vehicle is simply a celebratory project and is not planned for general sale.
