Check out what he revealed below!
- 1. I fall asleep every night listening to Jim Dale narrate “Harry Potter.” My brother will read me obscure quotes from any of the books and I can often place them in the right context and even name the specific chapter.
- 2. I grew up with parents who weren’t fans of screen time, so I didn’t really watch TV or movies until the pandemic. Then everything went online so my parents tried to strike a balance. That’s why I only discovered sitcoms a couple of years ago and have been making my way through them since. I like to include traits from my favorite characters into Roman Russo. I hope people can recognize those tidbits!
- 3. I love slapstick comedy. Robin Williams and Jim Carrey inspire me to use my face and body in extreme ways. The Wizards writers keep adding bits to the show that give me a chance to take risks and try things out. I’m a flopper so if there is a stunt mat nearby, I will be falling on it.
- 4. I could’ve been a 90s kid. My favorite kind of fun is real basic. My idea of a perfect day is biking to a friend’s house for water balloons and wiffle ball.
- 5. I’m a musical theatre nerd and I try not to miss a single touring Broadway show. Dream roles would be Phillip or P. T. Barnum in The Greatest Showman, Buddy the Elf, or Evan Hansen. Broadway is definitely on my bucket list!
- 6. “Big Brother” is a big part of my identity. My younger brother, Zacchaio, has a rare syndrome and had 30% of his brain removed to control his seizures. He is smart and funny and resilient and is a constant reminder to be kind, patient, and grateful. I got to go to Disney World for his Make-A-Wish; now Disney is giving me a chance to participate from the other side. We have had Make-a-Wish kids on the set of Wizards and I have gotten to record special messages for kids as Spidey.
- 7. I cannot tolerate scary movies. Hubie Halloween is the scariest movie I’ve watched from beginning to end. I have no interest in anything horror and I’m not sure that I could handle it even if I wanted to. Is it weird that I want to be in a horror movie, though?
- 8. Zippers give me the heebie jeebies. My mom is amazing at helping me find clothes that don’t have metal buttons or zippers. I’ll wear them if I have to (I know. Rough life.), but if I can get away with t-shirts and drawstrings, I definitely will.
- 9. I make music everywhere I go. Humming, singing, piano, ukulele, kalimba, drumming, stomping, clicking. My mind is a cacophony of melodies so I’ll often respond to normal conversation in song.
10. I have an autoimmune disease called Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. It’s a form of Rheumatoid Arthritis and it causes a lot of pain and swelling in all my joints. I’m on a crazy strict diet that has helped me heal so much that I’m almost back to being as active as I was pre-diagnosis.
