Person dies after being found critically hurt in Queenstown

A person has died in Queenstown after being found critically injured in freezing conditions early this morning. 

The New Zealand Herald is reporting the person was found in a critical condition at the bottom of some stairs on Fernhill Rd at about 3am.

A police spokesperson said the death was not being treated as suspicious. 

Police, fire crews and a rescue helicopter were all at the scene.
