Five people hurt, road closed after crash in Auckland's New Lynn

Five people have been injured after a crash in Auckland's New Lynn.

The two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Portage Rd and Clark St at about 11.30am, police said.

One person had serious injuries, a police spokesperson said, while four others were also injured.

Road closures are in place and motorists have been asked to avoid the area.

The serious crash unit had also been advised.
