Person stabbed following vehicle crash in Auckland
by Finn Blackwell · RNZA man has been arrested after stabbing someone following a crash in Auckland on Friday afternoon.
Officers were called to the scene near Ash Street and Great North Road in the suburb of Avondale about 4.50pm to reports of a crash.
They were also responding to reports a person had been stabbed, and found one person with stab wounds when they arrived.
The victim was taken to hospital in a moderate condition.
Police found and arrested the alleged offender a short time later.
A section of Great North Road and Rosebank Road was closed while police conducted a scene examination .
Police said the vehicles involved in the crash are linked to those involved in the stabbing.
They said inquires into what happened were ongoing and there was no threat to the public.
