I regret stopping my daughter from pursuing her musical ambition – Musician

Pope Skinny known in real life as Edwin Kwame Ohene Darko, a rapper, has revealed how he regrets not supporting his daughter’s musical ambition.

“One of the things that I regret till now is when my daughter was five years old and she wrote a song and came to sing it to my hearing.

“I took the paper she had written the song on and told my daughter that when she’s done with school then she can decide what she wants to do,” he told Amansan Krakye as MyNewsGh.com reported.

The veteran musician said though he feels bad about what he did but he wasn’t willing to allow her daughter to pursue music because of the struggles females go through.

“Because I saw the struggle with female artistes but maybe what I did might make her lose hope or feel bad even though that may be her talent.

“But i saw it from my angle and how female artistes were struggling to look for a producer and how others wanted to take advantage of them,” he disclosed.

“That’s what made me discourage her from singing and she’s a very smart kid and as we speak now she’s in JHS 3 and she’s the girls school prefect,” he remarked.
