Only after sending in soldiers on foot did the Israeli military identify the man as Hamas’ leader”.
Yahya Sinwar was born on October 29, 1962. He was born in Khan Yunis.
Reports indicate that Yahya Sinwar was born in Khan Younis refugee camp to parents who had been displaced from Ashkelon in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. His father was called Ibrahim Sinwar who died recently at age 90, however, not much information is out there about his mother.
