Hocus Pocus star unrecognisable 31 years after iconic Halloween film released
by Victoria Johns · Irish MirrorHocus Pocus star, Stephanie Faracy, looks unrecognisable 31 years after the film was released.
The Halloween favourite, which is in cinemas again, stars Stephanie, now 72, as Jenny Dennison, known for her daring red bodysuit and Madonna-inspired cone bra after her character re-located from Los Angeles to Salem.
In the cult classic, which also stars Bette Midler, Jenny and on-screen husband Dave head to a party - yet ultimately end up falling victim to a spell cast by the witchy Sanderson sisters.

The actress, who has also starred in Netflix series Nobody Wants This, was papped on the red carpet in 2022 and looked a world away from the pneumatic Jenny. Although still blonde, Stephanie looked much more demure, sporting a shoulder-length bob and elegant tweed jacket.
Talking about Jenny's classic Blonde Ambition era look in Hocus Pocus, the film's costume designer Mary Vogt told Bustle: "It was supposed to look slightly homemade. I look at that now and I’m embarrassed, it looks so cheesy." However, she added that Stephanie loved the costume and was "tempted to steal it".
Popular Hocus Pocus trio Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, who played the sinister siblings in the original film, returned for the sequel, Hocus Pocus 2, which sees the Sandersons accidentally awakened once again to wreak havoc on the world.
However, despite wowing fans with her racy look in the first film, Jenny's character - who was saved from the spell at the end of the first movie - did not reprise her role in the spin-off.
Earlier this year, Bette shared an update on the next Hocus Pocus film while discussing the success of the original, which she said had been a "real surprise".
It was announced last year that a third film was in the works, with fans awaiting updates on the project. Bette teased that it's being worked on "very gently" during an appearance on the radio station SiriusXM in the US.
While on the Jess Cagle Show, she commented: "Now they're kind of talking about a third - very gingerly and very gently. They are. They're talking about a third. I thought... the second one was a huge success."
During the interview, she also discussed the popularity of the original film, which went on to become a cult classic in the years since its initial release in cinemas. "We didn't know that it was going to be a hit," the singer admitted, adding: "It was a real surprise to all of us when it took off. It took off because of television and we really didn't catch up to it for years. It was years before we learned that this had become this massive cult success."
