Appeal issued after man has part of his ear bitten off in attack outside pub
by Ruairi Scott Byrne · Irish MirrorPolice in Northern Ireland have issued an appeal after a man was injured in an attack outside a pub in Co Antrim in the early hours of Monday morning.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) were called to the scene on Ballymoney Street in Ballymena shortly after 2am.
According to detectives investigating the incident, as the man was leaving the licensed premises, he was approached from behind by an unknown male who, "without provocation", bit a part of his ear off.

Following the shocking attack, the assailant fled the scene on foot. The injured man was later taken to hospital for treatment.
The PSNI has launched an investigation into the incident and detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has CCTV or dash-cam footage from the area which could assist them with their enquiries, to contact them at Antrim Police Station.
