Champions League betting tips: Four selections including for Real Madrid v Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona v Bayern Munich

by · Irish Mirror

The Champions League continues this week, with 18 matches taking place across Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

Seven teams have 100% records coming into matchweek three - Borussia Dortmund, Brest, Benfica, Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Juventus - while eight sides (RB Leipzig, Girona, Sturm Graz, AC Milan, FK Crvena Zvezda, RB Salzburg Slovan Bratislava and Young Boys) have yet to pick up a single point.

There are some mouthwatering clashes taking place this week and we've picked out the following bets for them:

Unai Emery has won the Europa League four times as a manager and has watched his Aston Villa side make the perfect start to their Champions League campaign.

A 3-0 win away to Young Boys was followed up with a famous 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich last time out and they'll be aiming for another three points on home soil once again on Tuesday.

While Villa have yet to concede a goal in Europe, Bologna haven't scored a goal in the competition and have kept just one cleansheet in their eight Serie A games to date this term.

Real Madrid to beat Borussia Dortmund and both teams to score 8pm Tuesday 8/5

It's a repeat of last year's Champions League final as Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund clash at the Bernabeu.

The German side were big winners two weeks ago when thrashing Celtic 7-1 at Signal Iduna Park to add to their 3-0 victory over Club Brugge on matchweek one, while Madrid suffered a surprise loss to Lille after a 3-1 win over Stuttgart.

With Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior finding the net for the hosts at the weekend, preference is for Carlo Ancelotti's side, but Dortmund should also find the back of the net.

Over 3.5 goals in Barcelona v Bayern Munich 8pm Wednesday 10/11

One of the ties of the league stage takes place on Wednesday as Barcelona host Bayern Munich at the Nou Camp.

Both of these sides have been scoring for fun and this has the potential to be an absolute cracker.

Barcelona have scored two or more goals in 10 of their 12 games in all competitions and have recorded winning scorelines of 5-0, 3-0 and 5-1 in their last three games. Bayern also have an eye for goal, with their Bundesliga victories including 6-1 against Holstein Kiel, 5-0 v Werder Bremen and 4-0 at home to Stuttgart at the weekend.

Inter Milan -2 handicap v Young Boys 8pm Wednesday 5/2

Young Boys have found life tough with the big boys in Europe so far and it's hard to see that changing this week.

The Swiss champions lost 3-0 at home to Aston Villa before losing 5-0 away to Barcelona a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile, Inter drew away to Manchester City on matchweek one before easily beating Red Star Belgrade 4-0. Expect a similar scoreline here.
