Maura Higgins has revealed she was left in tears during a romantic night out with boyfriend Pete Wicks.

The 33-year-old Love Island star has been romantically linked to The Only Way Is Essex Lothario Pete, 36 - who is currently a contestant on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing - since last month. On Monday night, the loved up couple were spotted out together on a romantic night out.

Maura - who is tipped to fly to Australia any day now to become a late entry contestant on ITV's long-running celebrity popularity contest reality show I'm A Celebrity.... Get Me Out Of Here! - looked chick in a layers white minidress with a sleeveless velvet jacket covering the top half of her body. But her romantic night out with Pete involved an endless stream of tears, she has revealed - and it's not because she is going to have to wave goodbye to the reality star in order to jet to Australia.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the Love Island beauty revealed that she and Pete had taken in an evening of music - which left her overcome with emotion. The duo attended the London Palladium theatre to watch 68-year-old Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi in his current UK tour.

Reflecting on her night out, Maura shared a photograph of the outside of the theatre with Ludovico's promotional posters clearly displayed and wrote on her Stories: "I've been counting down the days @ludovico_einaudi." She then shared a video of the performance and wrote: "Cried all night long." And she later gushed: "I am in awe of him."

Pete, who dressed for the night in a style that would make Cadbury's Milk Tray man envious with a black turtleneck jumper and slick black suit, has not posted about his night at the theatre. Over the weekend, the Towie star reduced Strictly fans to tears as he emotionally talked about his late grandmother, Doreen, after he danced his couple's choice in her honour.

Standing alongside his dance partner, Jowita Przystał, Pete gushed: "I would rather go and spend time with my nan than go out with the boys... I feel more pressure this week than any other. This is my way of her being part of that adventure... Been a tough week, but the one person I wish was here is my nan and she's not so it's the one way for her being here."

His words and performance brought tears to the eyes of many viewers who flooded social media with positive comments, with one writing: "Pete Wicks has just had his breakthrough moment on #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing. A beautiful dance that really meant something.

"The emotion was authentic and it really showed how far Pete has come in this competition. I just want to hug him! That was gorgeous!" And another wrote: "Pete trying not to cry."
