Teen arrested after young man stabbed during alleged assault at industrial estate in Dublin

The injured man was rushed to Tallaght University Hospital where Gardaí say he remains in stable condition

A teenager has been arrested after a young man was stabbed during a "serious assault" which occurred in Dublin on Wednesday evening.

Crumlin Gardaí were alerted to an assault at an industrial estate in Ballymount, Dublin at approximately 9pm. A man, who is aged in his 20s, received a stab wound during the course of an altercation with a second man.

The injured man was taken to Tallaght University Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

A man aged in his late teens was arrested at the scene of the incident and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Dublin.

A weapon which is understood to have been used during the course of the incident was seized by Gardaí for a technical examination.

A spokesperson for Gardaí said that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
