Gabby Logan's son furious as she talks about sex life with cancer-stricken husband
Kenny Logan was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022, and has spoken candidly about the effect the disease has had on his health, as well as his marriage to wife Gabby
by Emma Wilson · Irish MirrorGabby Logan says her son is furious with her for talking about her sex life with husband Kenny.
The BBC presenter, 51, has spoken candidly about her intimate relationship with the former Scottish rugby star after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022, and underwent treatment. However, the couple’s 19-year-old son Reuben, who plays for rugby union side Northampton Saints, has been left traumatised by her openness during interviews about her marriage.
In the latest episode of her podcast The Midpoint, Gabby said her teenage son has been mercilessly teased by his teammates because of her comments. “He’s like, ‘Mum, can you stop talking about your sex life, because now I go into work, they play clips in the dressing room. It would be helpful if you could just shut up for a while’. And I’m like, ‘Actually Reuben, next week’s episode - just on that’,” she quipped, before quickly adding: “We don’t just talk about my sex life, can I just say.”
Kenny, 52, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022, and revealed the news alongside his wife during an edition of BBC Breakfast. He told host Sally Nugent that he had “no symptoms” and was stunned when he received the results. “I got a wellness check and sat down with the guy and he said, 'everything's fine but your prostate is high'. I got checked and within three or four months I had a biopsy,” Kenny explained.

“This year, in February, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which was a huge shock. I decided to get it taken out and I'm probably 95 per cent back to normal. When you're told you've got cancer, I literally fell over. I didn't see it coming, no symptoms whatsoever. I had to go looking for it,” he said at the time.
He spoke about his sex life with wife Gabby on an episode of her podcast last year, and said he was warned by doctors that it could take up to two years to fully recover. “Six months on, I would say I’m physically 100 per cent, mentally 100 per cent, feel good. From a sexual point of view, it’s not consistent,” he candidly shared, as he revealed their sex life wasn’t what it was. “As the surgeon said to me, this could take 18 months. Within a month, I was getting movement, where he says, ‘That’s amazing’. So it’s just not as consistent.”
Gabby also confessed to “not being patient” when it came to restarting their sex life following his operation, and she told Chris Evans’ Virgin breakfast show that she regretted being so pushy. “It's Kenny and I talking frankly about what was going to happen. Because there is a big risk of functionality and not being there. Erectile function can be massively affected and it might not come back. Kenny was very lucky and eventually it did, but it took a while. His wife wasn't as patient as she might have been,” she shared.
