Man silent as he appears in court charged with murder of Stephen Ring in Wexford
by Brendan Furlong · Irish MirrorA 41-year-old man appeared in court this afternoon charged with the murder of a man in Wexford.
Christopher Judge, with an address of 17 Pairc na Dara, Clonard, Wexford town, and a native of County Cork, appeared before Judge John Cheatle at a special sitting of Wexford District Court.
He was charged with the murder of 27-year-old Stephen Ring on dates unknown between October 15, 2024, and October 27, 2024. He was arrested following the discovery of the body in a quarry at Shelmalier Commons, just outside Wexford town on Sunday morning.
Also before the court was Jane Corcoran, with the same address of 17 Pairc na Dara, Clonard, Wexford town, who was charged with aiding and abetting in the commission of the crime.

Judge appeared in court wearing a black jacket and grey sweatpants, sat silently as he was charged with murder contrary to common law. Corcoran (34) wearing a white jumper and dark grey tracksuit, watched closely from the dock as she was charged with aiding and abetting the crime under Section 72 of the Criminal Law Act 1997.
Det. Garda Leonard Casey gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution for Judge. He said he made no reply following caution. Det. Garda Brian Cummins gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution for Corcoran. He said she made no reply to the charge.
An application was made by Ross Pratt O'Brien, B.L. for free legal aid in the name of Solicitor, Frank Buttimer for Judge. The application was granted. Andrew Bolger, B.L. representing Corcoran, was also granted free legal aid in the case of Corcoran.
Both were remanded in custody to appear before Wexford District Court on Monday next via video link. Mr. Ring was reported missing by his family on October 15, but information provided to investigators led to the discovery of the body in a quarry at Shelmalier Commons. He had suffered a serious assault.
A Post Mortem was completed by State Pathologist, Sally Anne Collis on Sunday. The results are not being released for operational reasons. Ring is originally from Oylegate, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, but had been living in the Wexford town area over recent months.
