Teen due in court after firearm, ammunition and drugs seized in Dublin

A teenager is due to appear in court on Saturday after a firearm, ammunition and drugs were seized during a search operation in Co Dublin.

Gardaí made the discovery during a search of a home in Saggart on Thursday under Operation Tara.

All seized items are subject to forensic and ballistic analysis.

Five men – aged in their teens, 20s and 40s – were arrested on Thursday and were detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Garda stations in west Dublin.

The male in his teens arrested in connection with this investigation has since been charged. He is scheduled to appear before Dublin District Court, Court No. 2, at the Criminal Courts of Justice on Saturday at 10.30am.

The other four individuals arrested have been released from the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 and files will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
