As Jean Smart stepped into Studio 8H wearing a pink bedazzled jumpsuit, it’s no surprise that the Ls in LGBT are fawning over her as she hosts the premiere of Saturday Night Live’s 50th season. “Lesbians are obsessed with me,” Smart quips in the middle of a song about how she likes New York. “My first play was all lesbian characters, so I had a lot of gay women fans, and apparently I do for Hacks as well.” This was confirmed to her by a friend who told her a podcast where the host, a woman, “wants to date” Smart. “I thought, cool. At least I have options,” Smart pondered as she leaned on the piano. With a pantsuit like that? She must be like cat nip to those gals.
