Policeman Allegedly Shoots Youth In Anambra Over ₦100 Dispute

According to Daily Post, the altercation escalated when one of the officers suddenly fired his weapon, fatally wounding the youth.
A witness from Aguleri in the same local government area, who shared a distressing video of the victim’s body, identified the police squad involved, reportedly led by an officer named Onyebuchi.
The fatal incident, which occurred on Saturday, has sparked outrage in the community, with local youths staging protests to condemn the police action.
Details of the dispute remain unclear, as it is uncertain whether the disagreement involved a demand for a ₦100 bribe or a balance for an amount already paid. However, police authorities have confirmed the shooting.
In response to media inquiries, Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the command was fully aware of the incident and has taken appropriate action.
“The Police Officer involved has been identified as Inspector Sani Suleiman.
“He has been disarmed and detained for further investigations and internal disciplinarian procedures,” Ikenga said.
