The lawyer to Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, Avwerosuoghene Omuvwie, has explained why his client failed to appear personally before the House of Representatives.

Bobrisky was expected to appear on Monday before the lawmakers to answer allegations in a case in which he was accused of bribing officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop the money laundering charges against him and also the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) so as not to spend his jail time in a prison cell.

The allegations were made by social media activist, Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan.

However, on Monday, when he was supposed to appear before the House of Reps, his lawyer informed the lawmakers that his client was experiencing health issues.

The House of Representatives, however, requested medical documentation to support the assertions made by Bobrisky’s lawyer.

Meanwhile, VeryDarkMan, has disclosed how he obtained the controversial phone recording of cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

He said that he got the recording from someone whom Bobrisky owed money.

According to him: “How I got hold of that recording is as a result of Bobrisky blackmailing somebody he owes money. According to the story and evidence of proof of chat that was sent to me.

“The person borrowed Bobrisky N4 million when he was in EFCC detention or rather in a private apartment. The person gave him the money on the 19th of June, 2024.”
