LG Poll: Benue Government Declares Friday Public Holiday

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has officially declared Friday, October 4th, as a work-free day to facilitate the upcoming local government elections scheduled for October 5th.

The announcement was made through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, on Thursday in Makurdi.

The governor explained that the work-free day aims to provide the electorate with ample opportunity to travel to their respective local government areas to cast their votes.

He emphasized the significance of active participation in the electoral process, urging all citizens to take advantage of the day to fulfill their civic responsibilities.

Governor Alia expressed confidence that with collective commitment and participation, the elections would be conducted smoothly and fairly.

He called on public and private sector organizations to support this initiative by allowing their employees the same opportunity.

In his statement, Alia also urged citizens to prioritize peaceful conduct and cooperation during the elections, reinforcing the need for unity among all parties involved.
