Train derails in Abbotsford near U.S. border
by Sonia Aslam · CityNewsA train derailed in the Abbotsford neighbourhood of Huntingdon Tuesday morning.
The Abbotsford Police Department says it got the call around 4:30 a.m. to 4th Avenue and West Railway Avenue, just north of the U.S. border.
The train was traveling along the Canadian Pacific Railway when it derailed. Investigators say no train cars have flipped over, however, the locomotive is off the track.

4th Avenue is closed to traffic while crews work in the area.
“The closure is expected to last all morning as they’re waiting for a crane to arrive on site,” said AbbyPD Sgt. Paul Walker.
There are no reported injuries or damage.
“Commercial trucks heading to the U.S. border can still enter from the Sumas Way-side only,” added Walker.
Drivers can expect heavy delays in the area.
