Y'all, it's Election Day, and emotions are running HIGH. That's why I'm here to deliver some hope.
In an interview with CNN outside the polls in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jason Faasse, a dad of four, was stopped and asked who he is voting for today and why. "I voted for Kamala Harris," he shared.
When asked why, he replied, "I have three daughters — four children overall. And women's rights are pretty important to them, and my daughters," before getting visibly choked up.
"Sorry, I am getting a little emotional about that. I didn't think I was gonna do that," he paused to admit.

"But just their bodies, their choice, that type of mentality," he continued. "I want them to grow up in a world that's welcoming to everybody. So yeah, that's why I cast my vote today."
The clip was shared to @KamalaHQ, the official hub for Kamala Harris's presidential campaign, prompting many people to reshare Faasse's emotional response.

Dr. Lisa Corrigan, a professor of communication at the University of Arkansas, wrote that men publicly identifying themselves as "dads" is new and important.
As a gender thing, these videos are of men identifying themselves politically as a voting group called "dads." That. Is. New. And it's important. Thank Taylor Swift for creating space for girl dads to embrace their daughters and queer kids as part of their POLITICAL ORIENTATION. https://t.co/JN8UaRmF4l

She shouted out Taylor Swift for creating space for men to embrace their daughters and queer children ("Swiftie dads" recently went viral at the Eras Tour for showing the power of positive masculinity).
Other "girl dads" also chimed in with their support for Harris.
I’m a father of a son and three daughters ranging in ages from 31 to 23. I voted for Kamala Harris. They all voted for Kamala Harris. Never been more proud.🇺🇸 https://t.co/phUOIFtOkc

Some even pointed out that the "girl dad voter" demographic could be an underrepresented political bloc that could play a pivotal role in helping Kamala Harris secure victory.
I feel like girl dads are a hidden voting block that isn’t reaching the polls https://t.co/T6udf96Csw
