The future of Strictly Come Dancing star Nick Knowles on the popular BBC One series has been officially announced, dispelling concerns after his recent injury scare.

The much-loved host of DIY SOS, 62, had to withdraw from last week's performance due to sustaining an injury during practice sessions, just one day prior to his scheduled Movie Week performance alongside professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk.

At the start of the week, there was uncertainty surrounding Nick's continuation on Strictly; however, it has now been made clear that he will indeed grace the stage this Saturday night (October 12), with medical professionals having granted him the green light.

A spokesperson for the BBC confirmed the uplifting news: "We are all delighted that Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk will be dancing in this Saturday's show. Nick has been cleared to dance by the medical and physio teams following his injury last week. Due to time taken out of training this week, they will be performing their Movies Week Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2."

On the topic of Friday's It Takes Two, the dedicated spin-off show for Strictly, presenter Fleur East shared the same positive update with viewers, announcing: "Nick Knowles and Luba will dance again on Saturday, we will finally get to see his Charleston," reports WalesOnline.

The dance duo plan to perform the Charleston number which viewers missed last week, based on the adventures of the universally adored Paddington Bear.

Nick returned to the rehearsal studio on Wednesday, raring to give a stellar performance of the Charleston with Luba.

During his chat on It Takes Two that aired Wednesday (October 9), host Janette Manrara and partner Luba listened as Nick revealed the uncertainty over his weekend performance. He admitted, after Janette's probing about his well-being: "Each day gets a little bit better. On Friday it looked pretty bad, to be honest, and it felt bad. On Saturday it was not so good but I had a scan and after that, we decided that we would wait until Monday to see if it got any better."

Further updates came with Nick contributing: "Monday was a little bit stronger and today I got to see the physios and I've had help from all the rehab and physio and doctors and they have given me clearance to try and dance tomorrow to train. If I train tomorrow then it might not necessarily be the end of it."
