Loose Women's Ruth Langsford 'ready to date' again as Eamonn Holmes split drama escalates

Ruth Langsford has reportedly made the “most” of being single after her break-up from ex-husband Eamonn Holmes, but is ready to "dip her toe" back into dating

ITV's Loose Women star Ruth Langsford is reportedly set to return to the dating scene following her unexpected split from Eamonn Holmes earlier this year, a source has claimed.

The nation was taken aback in May when the beloved former This Morning duo shared news of their separation, after a marriage spanning 14 years, and disclosed they had started the "process of divorcing".

It's understood that Ruth has enlisted the services of renowned solicitor Catherine Costley to manage the divorce, with sources previously claiming that it could get "very, very tricky”.

Meanwhile, Closer magazine reports that what began as an "amicable" parting has turned bitter, as Eamonn, aged 64, was recently sighted on an extravagant cruise with new companion Katie Alexander, aged 42, a development that is said to have astounded Ruth.

Despite this, the publication has been informed by a source that Ruth is taking tentative strides back into the dating landscape, although she feels "understandably nervous".

The source said: "While Ruth's making the most of being single, she's also ready to dip her toe back into the dating pool - and after some friendly flirting, she's given pals the go-ahead to set her up on dates.

"She's really excited for that first date, and while she's understandably nervous, she can't wait for the tummy flutters of falling for someone again and experiencing all the 'firsts' with a new boyfriend."

Furthermore, Katie and Eamonn have also ventured to Barcelona, where the GB News host was spotted with his arms lovingly wrapped around her. The pair were later seen arriving at his pad in Kingston.

Eamonn reportedly returned to his former Surrey home, which he shared with Ruth Langsford, to gather some clothes for a cruise. However, a source claimed that his ex had removed the £2,000 stairlift that the star previously used to access the bedroom.

They stated that Ruth "doesn't need it" as she's "super-fit and healthy", but "she knew" Eamonn "probably would struggle" when he visited the house to "get some bits he needed" for the holiday.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, they said: "It might seem petty but Ruth's friends think it is absolutely hilarious as they think he has really taken her for a ride. You can imagine how furious Eamonn was. He was probably expecting to be able to use the stairlift to get his stuff and quickly get out again and pack for his holiday."

These reports follow a friend of the former couple revealing that Ruth had "become more his carer than a wife" as Eamonn battled chronic back pain, having undergone spinal surgery in 2022.
