Caravan destroyed in fire at small Devon village

Firefighters from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to a blazing caravan in a small Devon village on Saturday night. Crews from Honiton fire station were alerted at 8.53pm to the fire after receiving a call.

On arrival firefighters were confronted by the caravan which was described as "well alight". The crew used a hose reel jet and small tools over the next two and a half hours, confirming the fire fully extinguished at 11.36pm.

A spokesperson for the fire service said the caravan "The caravan was 100 percent damaged by fire." No cause of the fire has been given at this stage.
