The blaze spread rapidly

Dramatic new photos capture the scary moment a car exploded in a street in Brixham as flames shot up in the sky.

Firefighters scrambled to the scene of the burning vehicle at 9.30pm on Friday night in St Mary's Square.

Crews arrived as heavy smoke and flames filled the air as the fire rapidly spread. The car was left wrecked as firefighters extinguished the flames using specialist kit. Video from the scene also shows how the incident quickly unfolded.
