Strictly Come Dancing viewers were united in their reaction as Pete Wicks unveiled his revamped appearance in the latest instalment of the BBC show tonight (Saturday). The 36-year-old celebrity returned to the ballroom with his dance partner Jowita Przysta, hoping to win over the judges with a Quickstep set to 'Town Called Malice' by The Jam.

Ahead of their performance, the pair offered a glimpse at their costumes and Pete's revamped coiffure sparked quite the buzz among the audience tuned in at home, reports the Mirror. On X, previously Twitter, an enthusiastic viewer wrote: "OMG Pete looks so different."

Another chimed in with: "Pete Wicks in a 1950s style omg my clothes just fell off #strictly." A third commenter exclaimed: "PETE'S HAIR? ! #strictly." While one commenter questioned: "Are they sure that was Pete Wicks."

The new locks comes as body language and behaviour specialist Darren Stanton, has said he thinks Pete and Jowita might just clinch the Strictly title, especially after notching up their top score to date with 26 out of a possible 40 points last weekend.

Representing Betfair Slots, Stanton said: "Pete Wicks has a very good chance at making the final already. He's definitely shown he's capable of anything, and at this stage, that's very promising.

"He could potentially win. He and Jowita have a very strong connection and you can see that from the way they communicate is effortless through physical touches, eye contact and general synchronisation."

Pete and Jowita may be gliding towards the final, but Darren has suggested that EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick and his dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas might face elimination this weekend.

He commented: "I believe Jamie and Michelle will be in trouble this week. While they seem strong as a pairing in terms of their level of rapport, which continues to build, the judges will be less and less forgiving of small technical faults."

Darren also mentioned: "We are seeing the judges become more critical and picky when it comes to their routines. Jamie's levels of confidence are slipping. I'm not seeing what it takes to get through to the latter point of the competition, they're not quite as well-connected as some of the other couples higher up the leaderboard."
