Thousands of people are due to receive cost of living bonuses from today.

As announced in Budget 2025's cost of living package, several groups are set to receive lump sums or double payments during the week.

It comes as last week over a million people received a double social welfare payment.

Here's the list of payments due to be paid this week:

  • €300 Fuel Allowance Lump Sum Payment will be paid to over 387,000 households
  • €400 lump sum Working Family Payment will be paid to 46,000 households
  • A double Child Benefit payment worth €280 per child

There are a number of other lump sums due to be paid out throughout the month. These are:

  • €400 Disability Support Payment will be paid to people with disabilities
  • €200 lump sum payment to the almost 254,000 people in receipt of the Living Alone Allowance
  • €100 child support payment - formerly known as ‘Qualified Child’ - on the week commencing 25th November, which will support 340,000 children
  • €400 Carer’s Support Payment will be provided to the country’s carers during the week commencing 11th November

As well as November's payments, there will also be a Christmas bonus paid in the first week of December, and another double Child Benefit payment in December also.

The first one will be paid in November on the usual Child Benefit date, which is the first Tuesday of the month. This will be the 5th of November.

The second double payment will be applied to December Child Benefit, which is due to be paid on the 3rd of December.

This is also the week that social welfare recipients will receive a Christmas bonus.

All parents who are usually eligible for Child Benefit will receive the double payments and they are automatic - meaning no need to apply.

As for the social welfare Christmas bonus, over a million people are in line to receive the double rate of payment.

In addition to the series of lump-sum payments, Minister Humphreys also secured across-the-board payment increases and a range of targeted supports, which take effect from January 2025.
