Brian Dowling opened up about his “super emotional” goodbye to Arthur Gourounlian’s mum Maria this weekend.

She has been visiting with Brian and her son Arthur Gourounlian for the past three months.

Maria, also known as Tati, was in Ireland for her granddaughter Blake’s second birthday and baby Blu’s recent christening.

Brian shared that it was very sad saying goodbye to her this weekend as she’s been with them since July - however, their separation won’t be long-lived.

Brian wrote: “We have had a SUPER emotional weekend in the Dowling Gourounlian household with Tati’s departure. Maria has been with us since Blu was three weeks old & she’s now nearly four months old. Blake has been asking for her & then telling me Tati is asleep. But fear not; we will all be reunited for Christmas in 10 weeks.”

After marking some special family moments recently, Brian has been thinking about his late mother recently.

He shared: “I’ve also been thinking of Mum a lot lately, especially with Blake’s 2nd birthday & Blu’s Christening last weekend; I’d give anything to see her with Blake & Blu. Isn’t it funny how our thoughts can influence us as the jumper I’m sporting this morning was mums.

“Well, it was actually one I got for @gourounlian & mum loved the colour, so Arthur gifted it to her. She was delighted & wore it several times. I found it in my wardrobe a few weeks after she passed & had to keep it. It brings me such comfort to know my mum was the last person to wear it.

“Nothing else much matters in life when it comes to FAMILY. Arthur & I feel UTTERLY BLESSED WITH OURS. Happy Monday, everyone!”

Arthur also reflected on the emotional goodbye as he admitted that he hates saying goodbye to her.

“And just like that, the three months came to an end,” the Dancing with the Stars judge said, “But it’s not a goodbye; it’s a “À bientôt” because it’s official - Tati is coming back for Christmas. This morning was emotional, to say the least.

“I honestly hate, hate, hate, hate this part, and I’m not going to lie. Now, some might roll their eyes at what I’m about to say at 44, but yes, I AM A MAMA’S BOY, and I’m proud of it. Bon voyage, Maman Cherie. À très bientôt. Je t’aime.”
