EA has confirmed that Respawn Entertainment are working on the third and final Star Wars Jedi game.

The franchise started with 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and continued with 2023’s Survivor. There has been plenty of talk about a third game as well.

Stig Ammuson, the director of the first two games, told IGN that he “always” saw the project as a trilogy of games. However, Ammuson left Respawn last year to open new studio Giant Skull, casting doubt over the future of the series.

Yesterday (September 17) during an investors day presentation, EA’s entertainment and technology president Laura Miele revealed that the future of the Star Wars Jedi series was looking promising.

“We have delivered some of the highest quality and best-selling Star Wars games of all-time, with over $5billion in net bookings,” she said (via VGC). “This impressive track record includes of course the Jedi games, where over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi.”

She went on to confirm that “Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players.”

Earlier this year it was revealed that Fallen Order is the second best-selling Star Wars game of all time, after 2015’s Battlefront. Despite only being released last year, Survivor came in at eighth on the list.

In a five-star review, NME wrote: “The best action adventure released in 2023 so far, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has a confidence to its world and the play that it totally manages to back up by how fun it is. A must-play, perhaps the best action game of the generation so far.”
