First Jet2 flights from Newcastle Airport to Iceland take off for 'biggest ever' winter programme

The first Jet2 flights to Iceland departed from Newcastle and Leeds Bradford Airports this morning, marking the start of the company's biggest ever programme to the country.

The UK's largest operator of European city breaks will also operate their first flights for this winter from Birmingham and Manchester Airports tomorrow (October 3). In response to increased demand, the company is offering more seats, choice and flexibility when it comes to the Nordic destination.

The expanded programme means there is more than 30,000 seats on sale, a capacity increase of 13% compared to last year. There will be two weekly services flying out of Newcastle International Airport every Wednesday and Saturday, from October, 2 - November, 3, and again from February, 12 - March, 30 2025.

When booking and travelling to Iceland, customers can choose from flights with Jet2.com or package options with Jet2CityBreaks which are available for £60 per person deposit. In one Jet2CityBreaks package, bookings include a guided Northern Lights Tour, return flights, including 22kg hold luggage and coach transfers, as well as a choice of central hotels in Reykjavik. In addition, unforgettable excursions are available to purchase including those to the Golden Circle and South Shore.
