by · Voice of America

Officials in southern Ukraine said Wednesday a Russian drone attack targeting port infrastructure in Odesa injured two truck drivers.

The attack was part of a series of aerial attacks that involved 32 drones, the Ukrainian military said.

Ukraine’s air defenses shot down 11 of the drones, while 10 others crashed due to electronic countermeasures.

Ukraine’s air force said it shot down drones over the Kirovohrad, Odesa and Sumy regions.

Sumy officials said the attacks there targeted critical infrastructure sites.

The governor of the Cherkasky region said on Telegram that debris from a downed drone damaged a power line, while the governor of Dnipropetrovsk said Russian attacks using drones and artillery damaged infrastructure in the region.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said Wednesday it shot down six Ukrainian drones overnight and another early Thursday over the Belgorod region.

Belgorod’s governor said the attacks destroyed several houses and damaged the roof of an agricultural building.
