Valencia continues unbeaten run in the EuroCup by winning in Cluj-Napoca

Pedro Martinez’s team went up 3-0 in Group B of this year’s EuroCup following a winning Romanian trip

Valencia built a competitive roster with new head coaching from Pedro Martinez, and the results are showing how far can the Spanish side go in this year’s BKT EuroCup.

After winning the first two games of the season, in Round 3 they emerged victorious from Cluj-Napoca, winning 105-96, especially thanks to 22 points scored each by Semi Ojeleye and Xavi Lopez-Arostegui. They also set the team’s record in European competitions for three-pointers made in a game with 20/40.

While Valencia can celebrate, another familiar face for the Taronjas found a reason to be happy too this evening. Jared Harper led Hapoel Jerusalem against the Hamburg Towers with 19 points and 6 assists.

The rest of the night highlighted the remaining games in Group A, with Joventut Badalona opening the action in Poland with a tough 78-73 win over Trefl Sopot. Kassius Robertson made a huge contribution to Penya’s success by putting up 20 points and 6 assists.

Moving to Italy, Trento suffered a heavy defeat from Buducnost. A 21-0 run was decisive for the Montenegrin side, which won their first game of the season 85-64 with Yogi Ferrell’s 21 points.

Finally, Gran Canaria and Bahcesehir put on a balanced show to conclude EuroCup action for Round 3, as both teams wanted to get their third consecutive win in Group A, remaining perfect. The 2023 tournament’s champions had the better 66-63 also thanks to 17 points from Nicolas Brussino.
