After winning the Basketball Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup, Unicaja Malaga will have the chance to be also a Spanish SuperCopa contender.

Playing against the hosts of the tournament, Murcia, which beat them in last season’s Spanish league semifinals, Unicaja got the 84-78 win after a very tight game.

To be exact, the two teams entered the last five minutes with Unicaja leading by one point (68-67). What followed was a 14-3 run for Unicaja (82-70) with veteran Melvin Ejim making key baskets and ending the night with 10 points.

However, once again it was the duo of Dylan Osetkowski (19 p. 7 r.) and Kendrick Perry (17 p. 7 as.) who made things happen.

Playing in front of their home crowd, Murcia got 14 points by Lude Hakanson who kept the hope alive with a three to trim the lead to seven (77-70) only for Ejim to answer back with a three and one more basket.

On Sunday’s final, Unicaja will face Real Madrid which beat Barcelona.
