Police arrest 37-year-old woman for alleged torturing of toddlers in Adamawa
by Adenle Ahmed Abiola · The Eagle OnlineOperatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested a 37-year-old woman, Fatima Abubakar, in Yola South Local Government Area of the state for allegedly torturing two toddlers under her care.
The spokesman for the state police command, Suleiman Nguroje,confirmed the arrest on Monday.
Nguroje said investigations revealed that she subjected the children to abuse because they urinated and defecated inside the house.
According to him, Abubakar was taken into custody after it was revealed that she had physically assaulted a two-year-old girl and a young boy.
“Neighbours reported that Fatima, who is childless, had a history of maltreating the children, including denying them food and warning others not to interfere in her affairs,” Nguroje stated.

The police spokesman explained that the suspect confessed to the crimes after she was arrested on Saturday.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has ordered that she be charged to court.
